Each crypto data aggregator uses a different methodology to calculate average prices (we call them “Composite Index – AVG”) of cryptocurrencies. Generally, you take prices from top-tier exchanges (e.g. Binance, Coinbase, Bitstamp, Kraken, etc.) and then calculate the average price based on trading volume and other parameters, which serve as weights in the calculation formula. This is where different calculation methods produce different average prices. However, the price difference is usually very small.
