Bands are drawn at fixed offsets of the residual standard deviation from a linear fit of log(price) against log(days). The labels are our own and describe distance from trend — nothing more. This chart is not investment advice. Crypto is volatile; only invest what you can afford to lose.

FAQ

What is the Bitcoin rainbow chart?
A long-term BTC price view with bands drawn around a logarithmic regression fit. Each band shows where price sits relative to its long-run trend.
How are the bands calculated?
We fit log(price) as a linear function of log(days since Bitcoin's earliest available price), then draw bands at fixed multiples of the fit's standard deviation above and below the fit line.
Should I trade based on it?
No. It is a visualization of historical context, not a signal. Bitcoin can — and has — spent long periods in any band. Not investment advice.
